Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has reacted after Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan accused him of being paid by Senate President Godswill Akpabio to publish stories against her.In a post on her X handle, Senator Natasha shared a screenshot that appeared to show a WhatsApp chat where VeryDarkMan’s Facebook video about her was forwarded with the caption: “Please, which national dailies and national blog can fly this, I need like 3 and it has cost implications.”The Senator captioned it: “Dear Punch Nigeria, Guardian Nigeria and others, you may take the envelope and publish whatever Akpabio office sent to you,” suggesting the activist was sponsored to attack her. But in a new video response, VeryDarkMan denied being paid by anyone.According to him: “It is easier for an elephant to enter the eye of a needle than for people to believe that VeryDarkMan has been paid. No human being in this country will say they paid me a penny for anything.”The activist said the Senator made a mistake by responding to his earlier video about an alleged leaked voice note where she was purportedly heard directing a media contact to push a blackmail narrative against Akpabio. VDM’s main argument is that Senator Natasha did not deny the voice note in her response.”You did not deny the voice note, why? You would have just let it slide over you. Now you have put yourself in a tighter corner. You did not deny the voice call, it means that the voice call is true,” he said. As of press time, the authenticity of the alleged voice notes involving Senator Natasha and Senate President Akpabio has not been independently verified. Senator Natasha had previously described similar viral audios as cloned and manipulated with malicious intent to tarnish her image. Both Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio are yet to give detailed responses to the latest round of leaked audios.
