JAMB Releases 1.2 Million UTME Results for Friday and Saturday Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18. This announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin.
According to the official figures, a total of 1,264,940 results from these two specific days have been processed and are now accessible to candidates. This latest batch adds to the 632,752 results previously released for those who sat the examination on Thursday, April 16. This brings the total number of results released so far for the 2026 academic session to 1,897,692.
The Board clarified that candidates should check their scores through the official SMS-based platform. To do this, candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the unique phone number that was used during their initial registration. JAMB emphasized that at this current stage, results are only available for viewing via SMS and that the official result slips are not yet available for printing.
In the same statement, the Board expressed regret over the slight delay in releasing this batch. Although JAMB had earlier indicated that Friday’s results would be out by midnight on Saturday, technical hurdles pushed the release to Sunday evening.
JAMB also took the opportunity to issue a stern warning regarding result security. The Board revealed that it has already taken two candidates and one parent into custody for attempting to falsify UTME scores using electronic means. Candidates are strictly warned that any attempt to manipulate the SMS response received from JAMB is a criminal offense and will lead to prosecution and disqualification.
