AE-FUNAI VC Urges New Students to Embrace Excellence and Discipline at Savannah Institute Matriculation

Thirty-two fresh students officially joined the Savannah Institute of Technology, an affiliate of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), during its 4th matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Romanus Ejega, charged the new intakes to pursue academic excellence with discipline, focus, and strong character. He described the matriculation not as mere formality, but as the true beginning of their journey toward intellectual growth and future leadership.

Professor Nwachukwu warned the students against examination malpractice, cultism, and other social vices that could derail their progress. He reminded them that the affiliation with AE-FUNAI offers quality university education built on innovation, discipline, and moral responsibility, and urged them to make the most of every opportunity.

Barr. T. Ifeanyi Igwe, who administered the matriculation oath, explained that the ceremony marks the students’ formal acceptance of the institution’s rules and values. He stressed the importance of punctuality, regular lecture attendance, and responsible behaviour both on and off campus, noting that their conduct will shape the reputation of the Institute.

The students took the oath solemnly, pledging to uphold good character and contribute positively to the academic community.

In his remarks, the Director of Savannah Institute of Technology, Dr. Kenneth Uwah, thanked AE-FUNAI management for their ongoing support. He described the event as a clear sign of the Institute’s steady growth and reaffirmed its commitment to providing a conducive environment for learning, innovation, and character development.
