AE-FUNAI Vice Chancellor Daniel Nwachukwu Urges OHANIVO Youths to Prioritize Constructive Community Engagement
The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, has called on the OHANIVO Youth Forum to maintain a culture of law-abiding behavior and purposeful dialogue in their activities. This charge was given during a formal courtesy visit by the youth group to the Vice-Chancellor’s office on the university campus in Ebonyi State.
The visit served a dual purpose: to formally congratulate Professor Nwachukwu on his recent appointment as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of the institution and to establish a bridge for future collaboration. The OHANIVO Youth Forum, representing the interests of young people across the local community, pledged their total support for the current administration, noting that a stable and growing university environment benefits the entire region.
Responding to the group’s show of solidarity, Professor Nwachukwu described the visit as a clear sign of strong community backing. He emphasized that the university does not exist in a vacuum and relies on the positive conduct of its host communities to thrive. He specifically challenged the forum to steer young people toward productive ventures and away from disruptive tendencies, stressing that constructive engagement is the only way to achieve sustainable growth.
Earlier in the meeting, the President of the OHANIVO Youth Forum, Comrade George Nwoye, noted that the appointment of Professor Nwachukwu has been a major point of pride for the OHANIVO people, both locally and those living abroad. He reiterated the forum’s commitment to sensitizing youths on the importance of discipline and peace.
The forum concluded the visit by assuring the university management of their readiness to partner on initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence and community-driven development. This meeting signals a strengthening of ties between the AE-FUNAI leadership and its neighbors, a move seen by many as vital for the university’s long-term stability and regional impact.
