Federal Government Opens Applications for TVET Cohort 2 With N22,500 Monthly Stipend for Nigerian Youths
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the recruitment phase for the second cohort of the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program. Announced by the Ministry of Education on April 13, 2026, this initiative is designed to bridge the national skills gap by providing thousands of young Nigerians with industry-standard technical expertise.
Financial Support and Monthly Stipend Breakdown
To minimize the financial burden on trainees, the program includes a structured allowance system:
Monthly Stipend Participants will receive a ₦22,500 monthly stipend throughout the duration of their training.
Biometric Attendance Policy To ensure transparency, stipends are strictly linked to a biometric clock-in system. Trainees who fail to meet a minimum 75% monthly attendance threshold will forfeit their payment for that period.
Training Duration The financial support lasts for the full training cycle, which spans 6 to 12 months depending on the complexity of the chosen trade.
