Final Sessions Underway as 2026 JAMB UTME Wraps Up Nationwide

The curtain falls today on the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as the final batches of candidates take their seats across 966 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres. After a rigorous ten-day exercise that began on April 16, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is officially concluding the main examination window for over two million applicants—the largest cohort in the board’s 48-year history.  

For those scheduled for these final slots, the atmosphere at various centres remains a mix of relief and anxiety. While the majority of candidates have already completed their papers, today’s sessions are critical for concluding the evaluation of this year’s academic aspirants. Reports from the field indicate that the exercise has remained largely stable, despite the earlier delisting of over 20 CBT centres due to technical failures during the mock trials in March.

What Happens Next for Candidates?

With the exams ending today, the focus shifts entirely to the release of results. JAMB has already begun releasing scores in daily batches to manage portal traffic. As of this morning, approximately 1.9 million results have been processed and made available. If you sat for the exam earlier in the week and haven’t seen your score, you are encouraged to check via the official SMS method by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using your registered phone number.  

A Final Warning on Integrity

As the gates close on the 2026 cycle, JAMB officials have reiterated that any candidate caught in post-examination fraud or “result upgrading” scams will face permanent disqualification. Results released are final, and the board has warned against patronizing racketeers claiming to have access to the JAMB server.
