EBSU 2026/2027 Admission: Process, Cut-off Mark, and How To Check Your Status

Ebonyi State University, EBSU, has officially begun releasing admission for the 2026/2027 academic session. Thousands of UTME and Direct Entry candidates who sat for the online Post UTME screening are now checking JAMB CAPS and the EBSU portal daily.
If you applied to EBSU this year, here’s everything you need to know about the process, cut-off marks, and how to confirm your admission.
EBSU 2026/2027 Admission Timeline
The admission cycle started in May and is currently in the “offer of admission” stage.
– Post UTME Form: Opened 22 May 2026, closed 22 June 2026
– Screening: Fully online. No physical exam
– Admission Processing: Ongoing in batches on JAMB CAPS
– Postgraduate Form: Also open from 1 May – 30 June 2026
EBSU Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027
EBSU announced a general cut-off mark of 150 for 2026/2027.
But competitive courses are higher:
– Medicine & Surgery: 250
– Nursing: 210
– Law: 170
– Engineering, Pharmacy, Lab Science: 160-180
Note: Meeting the cut-off does not guarantee admission. Departmental merit and catchment area still apply.
Many candidates miss admission over simple mistakes. Avoid these:
– O’Level Upload: You must upload WAEC/NECO/NABTEB on both EBSU portal and JAMB portal
– Wrong JAMB Subject Combination
– *Not Choosing EBSU as 1st Choice* – EBSU rarely considers 2nd choice
How To Check EBSU Admission Status 2026/2027
On JAMB CAPS – Recommended
1. Visit `portal.jamb.gov.ng`
2. Log in with your JAMB email and password
3. Click “Check Admission Status” → “Access my CAPS”
4. If admitted, click “ACCEPT” immediately. If not, keep checking
On EBSU Portal
1. Go to `portal.ebsu.edu.ng/modules/admission/CheckAdmissionStatus.aspx`
2. Select “UTME” or “DE”
3. Enter your JAMB Registration Number
EBSU uploads admission in batches. “Admission in Progress” on CAPS means you are still being considered.
What To Do After Admission?
1. Accept admission on JAMB CAPS
2. Print JAMB Admission Letter
3. Pay acceptance fee on EBSU portal when it’s activated
4. Prepare for clearance and school fee payment
EBSU has started giving admission for 2026/2027. If you scored 150+ and did your screening, keep checking CAPS every 2-3 days.
Don’t fall for fraudsters asking for money to “secure” admission. EBSU admission is processed only through JAMB and the official EBSU portal.
