JAMB Delists 23 CBT Centres and Warns 89 Others Ahead of 2026 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially blacklisted 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the federation following significant technical failures during the 2026 Mock-UTME held on March 28. In a move to safeguard the integrity of the upcoming main examination—scheduled to run from April 16 to April 25, 2026—the board also issued a final warning to 89 other centres currently struggling with infrastructure requirements.
The decision followed a nationwide audit which revealed that several centres failed to maintain stable power backups, while others operated with outdated computer systems that caused screens to lag or freeze. In Delta State, particularly in Asaba, candidates reported being stranded for hours due to a complete lack of generators to power systems after public electricity failed. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, and spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin clarified that the board has zero tolerance for technical incompetence that puts students at a disadvantage. Notably, HA-SHEM Academy in Yaba, Lagos, has been barred permanently from conducting any future JAMB-related examinations.
Affected states include Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, and the FCT. Specific delisted centres include:
- Lagos: Florin High School (Ejigbo), Folbob CBT Centre (Ibeju-Lekki), and Teesas Learning Centre (Lekki).
- Abuja: Model Secondary School (Maitama).
- Anambra: The Oracle Lens (Nnokwa) and Bishop Crowther Seminary (Awka).
- Oyo: SAF Polytechnic (Iseyin).
Candidates previously assigned to these 23 centres are currently being redistributed to accredited venues. JAMB urges all 2026 UTME applicants to check their profile dashboards immediately to reprint their updated examination notification slips and confirm their new venues.
