Ndieguazu Ohankwu Community Pledges Support to AE-FUNAI VC

The bond between Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) and its neighbors just got a serious boost. A delegation from Ndieguazu Ohankwu Village recently paid an unexpected visit to the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, signaling a fresh chapter of cooperation.

Led by Mr. Alo Daniel, the community leaders didn’t just come to shake hands; they came to talk business and progress.

The Community’s Terms

The message from the Ndufu-Alike indigenes was clear: we have your back, but don’t forget us. Their support for Nwachukwu’s administration comes with specific hopes for the future:

Professional Inclusion: A push for more indigenes to be admitted into high-impact courses like Medicine, Law, and Engineering.

Job Opportunities: Employment slots for community members to ensure the university’s growth directly impacts local households.

Fair Compensation: Addressing the long-standing issue of compensation for community members displaced during the university’s expansion.

The VC’s Response

Professor Nwachukwu, caught slightly off guard by the visit, welcomed the gesture as a “timely” move for peace. He admitted he had been planning a trip to see them first, but the community beat him to the punch.
