JAMB Releases First Batch of 2026 UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results for the first set of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This initial release covers 632,788 candidates who took the exams on the opening day, April 16.

Candidates can check their scores immediately via mobile phone. To access results, send UTMERESULT as an SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered for the examination. The board has clarified that the result-checking portal on the official website is currently undergoing synchronization, making the SMS method the only verified option for now.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, warned that these scores are for viewing only and official result slips for printing will be available at a later date.

The board also confirmed the arrest of two candidates and a parent for attempting to manipulate scores using digital software. Security measures have been tightened across all Computer Based Test (CBT) centers to prevent further malpractice as the examination continues for remaining batches. Candidates are advised to avoid third-party websites claiming to “upgrade” scores, as UTME results are securely stored on a centralized server.
