LASU Management Suspends Five Students Over Coordinated Cyber-Harassment

The management of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has announced the suspension of five students following a report from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). The decision, made public within the last 24 hours, confirms that the affected students have been barred from all academic activities for two semesters, effective immediately.

The sanctions follow a comprehensive investigation into allegations of a coordinated cyber-bullying and harassment campaign directed at a senior faculty member. According to the university’s internal report, the students utilized various social media platforms to launch personal attacks and spread defamatory content against the lecturer. This conduct was found to be in direct violation of the institution’s “ICT Misuse” policy, which strictly prohibits the use of digital tools for harassment, bullying, or bringing the name of the university into disrepute.
