The Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation (WYBF) has officially invited undergraduates from across Nigeria to apply for its 2026 scholarship cycle. With the portal now active, the foundation aims to provide financial grants of ₦100,000 and professional mentorship to students in public tertiary institutions who demonstrate academic excellence despite financial constraints.

To ensure your submission is considered for the 2026/2027 academic session, all applications must be finalized by the May 29, 2026 deadline.

Core Eligibility Criteria for the 2026 Cycle

The WYBF selection committee utilizes a rigorous verification process to identify students who meet the “indigent but brilliant” criteria. To be eligible for the 2026 award, you must meet the following standards:

Public Institution Enrollment: You must be a full-time student in a Nigerian Federal or State University, Polytechnic, or College of Education.

Academic Merit: Returning students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale. Freshmen (100-level) must present a valid JAMB admission letter with a high UTME score.

Financial Necessity: Applicants must be able to prove their status as “less privileged” through a personal statement and relevant background details.

The Nurturing Hearts Category: Female applicants aged 18 to 28 have the additional option of applying for this specialized track, which focuses on female empowerment and leadership.
