PORTABLE DEMANDS DNA TEST BEFORE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR ASHABI’S CHILDREN

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has demanded DNA tests for his two children with actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, also known as Ashabi Simple, before taking responsibility for their upkeep.Portable made the demand in an Instagram Story on Friday, September 18, 2026, amid an ongoing dispute between the singer and Ashabi over the welfare and financial support of their children.“Now I need DNA test asap so i can take care of those kids because I do not trust their mother. I cannot take care of another man child,” Portable wrote.In a voice note circulated online, the singer also questioned the paternity of the children and said he wanted them taken to a hospital for DNA testing before providing further financial support.Portable questioned Ashabi’s alleged movements during their relationship, noting that she would sometimes be away from their home for several days because of film shoots.He also addressed the children’s physical resemblance to him, saying:“Forget that the babies look like me, we were living together so the babies can look like me due to that.”The development followed claims by Ashabi that Portable had not provided adequate financial support for their two children.In screenshots shared on her Instagram page, Ashabi claimed that between January and September, Portable had given ₦200,000 towards the upkeep of their two children.She also claimed that she had paid their school fees for three terms and had been responsible for feeding and clothing the children.“I sha don give you Enough time to be responsibleJanuary to September u gave.2kids 200k.Have paid for 3 term school fees for them each.Have been feeding them all alone and clothing them,” she wrote.Ashabi further said she had contacted Portable because she wanted him to take responsibility for the welfare of their children.In another screenshot of their alleged conversation, Portable reportedly told Ashabi: “Give me those kids or take care of them yourself.”Ashabi also accused the singer of refusing to be accountable for their children’s welfare.“Online warrior, your fans will push you to canal.
