The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, made a major stop in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, engaging supporters and local residents at an NDC Obi-Talks Town Hall ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Welcomed by the party’s Rivers State governorship candidate, Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs, along with other NDC leaders, Obi tackled critical national issues head-on — addressing unemployment, healthcare, education, security, poverty, and economic growth.
Pointing to the development trajectories of nations like Bangladesh, Indonesia, and India, the former Anambra State governor underscored what competent, purposeful leadership can deliver. He reaffirmed his core commitments to making education, healthcare, and poverty reduction national priorities.
Urging Rivers residents to come out in full force for the 2027 polls, Obi delivered a clear message on democratic integrity: “The people of Rivers State will vote, and their votes MUST count.” He called for free, fair, and credible elections that deliver leaders with genuine legitimacy.
