JAMB Sets Minimum Cut-Off Marks for 2026/2027 Admission Session

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved the minimum cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 admission cycle into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

– Universities*: 150

– Polytechnics & Colleges of Education: 100

– Nursing Programmes: 140

These are the *minimum benchmarks* set by JAMB. Individual institutions and departments are allowed to set higher cut-off marks depending on the competitiveness of their programmes.

   Important Notes for Candidates

– Highly competitive courses (Medicine, Law, Engineering, Accounting, etc.) in top universities often set cut-off marks between 180 and 200+.

– Candidates are strongly advised to check the specific cut-off marks on their *chosen university’s official portal* or admission office, as departmental cut-offs are usually higher than the general minimum.

– Meeting the minimum cut-off does not guarantee admission — post-UTME performance, O’Level grades, and other criteria also play major roles.
