AE-FUNAI LAW CLINIC EMERGES OVERALL CHAMPION, DEFEATING EBSU, UNN, ABSU AND 26 OTHER LAW CLINICS ACROSS NIGERIA

In a remarkable display of legal advocacy, innovation, teamwork, and clinical excellence, the Law Clinic of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) has emerged as the overall champion of the NULAI Nigeria Virtual Street Law Competition, defeating Ebonyi State University (EBSU) Law Clinic, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Law Clinic, Abia State University (ABSU) Law Clinic, and 26 other law clinics from universities across Nigeria.The historic victory, announced on 2 September 2026, places AE-FUNAI Law Clinic at the forefront of clinical legal education, legal literacy, public-interest advocacy, and innovative approaches to community legal empowerment.The competition, which was held on 8 June 2026, brought together law clinics from universities across Nigeria and challenged participating teams to demonstrate their ability to simplify complex legal concepts, engage target audiences effectively, promote civic awareness, and deliver Street Law presentations through innovative and interactive methodologies.The AE-FUNAI team was led by Paschal Oguguo Olebara, the immediate past Director of the AE-FUNAI Law Clinic, alongside the Law Clinic Student Executive Committee comprising Akuwueze Jonathan Munachimso, Clinic Leader; Okoucha Samuel Ikechukwu, Deputy Clinic Leader; and Obi Adaobi Chidera, Secretary of the Law Clinic, all for the 2025/2026 academic session.The leadership provided strategic direction and coordination for the team’s preparation and participation, while the student advocates demonstrated exceptional commitment, teamwork, legal knowledge, communication skills, and advocacy throughout the competition.The victorious clinical team comprised:* Neife Nelson* Okoye Sochukwukama* Obini Sopuru Treasure* Okeke Ebubechukwu* Okpara Gabriel* Edeh Charles* Okoro Chiamaka* Nduh Hephzibah* Ebi Covenant* Okam Abigael* Okere Chiamaka* Micheal Ruth* Onyemeachi IfeomaThe NULAI Nigeria Virtual Street Law Competition evaluates university law clinics on their ability to simplify complex legal concepts, effectively engage target audiences, and promote civic awareness through interactive and innovative teaching methodologies.AE-FUNAI’s emergence as overall champion, ahead of EBSU, UNN, ABSU, and 26 other law clinics, is a significant national achievement.
