AE-FUNAI NELFUND Beneficiaries Leadership Meets DSA, Instructed to Submit Detailed Letter to VC

The leadership of NELFUND Beneficiaries in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) held a short but important meeting with the Dean of Students Affairs (DSA) on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his office.

The session began around 12:50 PM and wrapped up in under 20 minutes.

What Happened During the Meeting

The leadership properly introduced themselves and clearly explained the purpose of the visit.

They presented the major NELFUND-related challenges affecting beneficiaries and other connected student welfare issues.

The DSA informed them that the university currently has no registered body specifically assigned to handle or monitor NELFUND matters. He advised that if they want to operate as an official group, they should go through the proper registration process with the school authorities.

Even without formal registration, he was willing to listen and engage.

To get the issues properly documented, investigated, and resolved, the DSA directed the leadership to prepare and submit a detailed formal letter. The letter should be addressed jointly to:

The Vice-Chancellor (VC)

The Dean of Students Affairs (DSA)

The Students Union Government (SUG)

The letter must clearly list all the problems, attach any available evidence, and include names of affected students (where possible).

He gave assurance that he would personally relay the concerns to the VC verbally in advance, even before the official letter is delivered, to help fast-track attention.

The meeting ended on a positive note. The leadership thanked the DSA for granting the audience, for his openness, and for the clear guidance provided. They also did full name introductions before departing.
