Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy is taking Afrobeats to another major international stage after the National Football League (NFL) announced that he will headline the halftime show of its historic Paris game. The Grammy Award-winning singer is scheduled to perform on October 25, 2026, when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the New Orleans Saints at the iconic Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris. The game will mark the first regular-season NFL game ever played in France, making Burna Boy’s selection an important moment for both the league and African music. The NFL officially announced the Nigerian singer as its Paris halftime headliner on September 17. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CEST, with the halftime performance forming part of the NFL’s expanded international entertainment programme for the 2026 season. For Burna Boy, the performance also represents a return to a venue where he previously made history. In April 2025, he became the first African artist to headline a solo concert at Stade de France, with reports stating that the show sold out all 80,000 tickets. Reacting to the announcement, Burna Boy said returning to the stadium for an NFL event was significant to him and that he intended to use the opportunity to represent African music on the global stage. The Paris show is also part of a wider international expansion by the NFL. The league has scheduled seven international games across seven countries and four continents during the 2026 season, with musical performances attached to several of the fixtures. Other previously announced international halftime performers include Ayra Starr for the NFL London game, while Ricky Martin and Pedro Sampaio are scheduled for the Rio de Janeiro game. Burna Boy’s latest NFL announcement comes after another major global sporting appearance this year. The singer performed alongside Shakira during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show, further extending his presence on some of the world’s biggest sporting stages. The full Burna Boy halftime performance in Paris will be broadcast live in France on France Télévisions and beIN Sports, while L’Équipe is scheduled to broadcast the game later that evening. With the NFL heading to France for the first time, all eyes will be on Stade de France as Burna Boy returns to the Paris venue — this time with millions of football and music fans watching around the world.
