TWO ABDUCTED FEMALE STUDENTS OF FUTO REGAIN FREEDOM, RECEIVE MEDICAL CARE

Two female students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), who were abducted during a security incident on September 6, 2026, have regained their freedom.FUTO Management confirmed their release in a statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Orakwe Ezugwu.The students are currently receiving medical care and psychological support at the university’s Medical Centre.The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ikechukwu Dozie, has visited the students at the Medical Centre and interacted with them following their release.FUTO Management also commended the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for their intervention in securing the students’ release.The university said additional security measures are being sustained across the campus in collaboration with relevant security agencies.
