LASUSTECH WINS CIBN BEST LINKAGE ACADEMY INSTITUTION AWARD

Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has won the Best Linkage Academy Institution Award at the 19th Annual Conference of Banking and Finance organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).The conference was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, from September 8 to 9, 2026.The award recognises excellence among universities, polytechnics and other institutions offering Banking and Finance programmes in Nigeria.LASUSTECH emerged as the overall winner, ahead of Kaduna Polytechnic, which was named first runner-up, and The Polytechnic Ibadan, which came second runner-up.Dr Abiola Lawal, FCIB, an Associate Professor in the Department of Banking and Finance, received the award on behalf of LASUSTECH.The award was presented by Mr Moruf Oseni, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc and Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee.CIBN National President and Chairman of Council, Dr Dele Alabi, FCIB, and the Registrar of CIBN, Mr Akin Morakinyo, HCIB, ACIB, commended LASUSTECH management and staff for their contributions to the institute.The institute described the recognition as an acknowledgement of LASUSTECH’s contribution to the development of Banking and Finance education in Nigeria.
