Nigerian actress and humanitarian Tonia Okoro, popularly known as Ferrari, has received two humanitarian honours in Connecticut, United States, in recognition of her contributions to humanitarian service, leadership and community development. The actress received the recognitions on Sunday, September 13, 2026, after being unable to attend the original ceremonies where the honours were conferred in 2025. According to reports, the awards were presented by institutions based in Connecticut. Dr. Mrs. Anne Adepoju, a Presidential Honouree and Peace Ambassador, formally presented the honours to Okoro. One of the recognitions is an Exceptional Leadership Award from HBI University, acknowledging her humanitarian contributions and leadership. The accompanying certificate describes the award as recognition for individuals whose work contributes to areas including humanitarianism, business, arts and entertainment, social service and community development. She also received a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her commitment to humanitarian service and community development. Okoro explained that she could not attend the original ceremony in 2025 because of her responsibilities to her daughter. She eventually received the honours during the September presentation in Connecticut. Speaking about the recognition, the actress expressed gratitude and said the awards would encourage her to continue supporting people and contributing to society. “It is a big deal to be honoured and recognised. I am encouraged to do more humanitarian work and help others in my little way.” The actress also expressed appreciation for being recognised alongside other individuals honoured for their humanitarian efforts.
