NYSC Suspends 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation in Niger State, Announces Fresh Arrangements Ahead
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has suspended the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State, citing ongoing renovation works at the state’s orientation camp.
The announcement was made through the scheme’s official communication channels, with the management assuring affected prospective corps members (PCMs) that new reporting arrangements would be communicated in due course.
According to the NYSC, the temporary suspension became necessary to allow for the completion of rehabilitation work at the orientation camp in Paiko, located in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State. The camp had earlier suffered significant damage from a windstorm, prompting renovation efforts by the state government.
Affected Corps Members to Receive Further Instructions
The scheme stated that all prospective corps members deployed to Niger State for the 2026 Batch B Stream I exercise will be contacted at short notice regarding their new reporting venue and date.
NYSC management also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the development and appealed to affected corps members and their families to remain patient while alternative arrangements are finalized.
Orientation Exercise Continues Nationwide
While the exercise has been suspended in Niger State, the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course remains ongoing in other states across the federation.
The nationwide orientation programme commenced on June 10, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on June 30, 2026. Prospective corps members posted to other states are expected to continue with their orientation activities as planned.
