Obafemi Awolowo University students facing grueling morning and evening commutes will see immediate relief as management begins the deployment of six high-capacity buses to handle peak-hour traffic.

The move follows a tense 24-hour period where student leaders raised concerns over the persistent shortage of campus shuttles. In a direct response to the brewing unrest, the University administration ordered five 36-seater buses and one 88-seater luxury coach to be integrated into the campus loop specifically for the 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM rushes.

The University’s official spokesperson clarified today, April 28, 2026, that while the long queues at the park have caused significant delays, the new fleet aims to stabilize student movement during the busiest intervals.
