UNILAG SENDS DISQUALIFICATION MESSAGES TO 2026 POST-UTME CANDIDATES

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has sent personal disqualification messages to some candidates who participated in its 2026/2027 Post-UTME online screening over alleged examination malpractice. The messages were sent to individual candidates by the university’s Admissions Office, according to a report published on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.In the notification, the university stated that following a further review of the candidates’ Post-UTME online screening, their disqualification for examination malpractice had been confirmed. The university said any violation of its examination guidelines constitutes examination malpractice. It also stated that its findings were based on the deployment of multi-layered surveillance tools, including physical proctors and technology resources and mapping during the screening test.According to the notification, any single act of non-compliance was sufficient to lead to disqualification.UNILAG’s official examination instructions for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening had earlier stated that the test would be conducted under remotely proctored conditions, with examination activities monitored and recorded for examination integrity, verification and investigation purposes. The university’s instructions also listed conduct that could result in disqualification, including unauthorised assistance, communication with another person, use of prohibited devices, multiple logins and other forms of examination malpractice.
