The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Kaduna State University chapter has embarked on an indefinite strike. The strike has forced KASU to suspend all academic activities until further notice. According to ASUU KASU, the strike was declared after the Kaduna State Government failed to meet their demands. Lecturers are being owed several months of EAA for extra duties. KASU classrooms, labs and hostels are in a bad state due to poor funding. The state government has refused to domesticate the 2009/2017 agreement. Union dues deducted from salaries have not been remitted. Some ASUU members are allegedly being victimized for speaking up.

– All lectures and exams suspended indefinitely

ASUU said the strike will continue until the Kaduna State Government addresses all demands and signs an MoA.
