An Igbo actor struggled with the Yoruba language, so I explained it to the producers. They looked me in the face and said, ‘I DON’T CARE.’”According to Omotola, she was told by the supervisor that the studio was not concerned about getting the African language right.“I said, ‘You don’t care that you get the language for an African film right?’ She said, ‘No,’” she recounted.Others questioned why Omotola did not simply assist the actor with the pronunciation if she recognised that the recording was inaccurate.“I said to myself, wow, the struggle continues,” Omotola added.Nigerians question her motiveSome critics accused the actress of allowing tribal sentiments to influence her reaction, particularly because she singled out Yoruba and Egun in recounting the incident.
