South Africa is celebrating a major moment on the global pageant stage as Romanda Hombir has been crowned Miss World Africa 2026 after reaching the Top 6 at the Miss World 2026 grand finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Hombir’s achievement places her among the continent’s standout performers at this year’s competition. Her journey to the final six followed a strong campaign that included success in the African Head-to-Head Challenge, helping her secure a place in the Top 40 before she continued advancing through the competition.
The continental title is particularly significant for South Africa. Hombir’s Top 6 finish represents the country’s strongest Miss World result in years and gives her a new platform as Miss World Africa, the continental ambassador associated with the Miss World organisation. The overall Miss World 2026 crown went to Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic.

The clinical audiologist from Mpumalanga is also a humanitarian, motivational speaker and health-and-education advocate.
