A new scholarship programme has been launched to support Nigerian students facing financial difficulties in accessing tertiary education. The Care Wave ARISE Scholarship Programme, launched by the Care Wave Foundation, is designed to provide educational assistance to students who may otherwise struggle to finance their studies. The Abuja-based foundation said the initiative forms part of its wider work in education, healthcare, economic empowerment and social support. Under the scholarship programme, successful applicants will receive assistance covering tuition, books, accommodation and stipends. Recipients will also be expected to maintain good academic standing throughout their studies. The application process includes an eligibility assessment, submission of required documents and review by a scholarship committee. Shortlisted candidates may also be invited for interviews before final selections are made. The reported application deadline is November 9, 2026, with eligible applicants encouraged to submit their documents through the foundation’s official application portal before the deadline. Beyond financial assistance, Care Wave Foundation said it is preparing a complementary mentorship programme. The mentorship initiative is expected to connect young people with professionals and volunteers who can provide guidance on education, career development and personal growth. The foundation said the combination of financial assistance and mentorship is intended to address both the immediate financial barriers facing students and some of the challenges they may encounter as they develop their careers. The launch comes at a time when the cost of tertiary education remains a major concern for many Nigerian families. For students who qualify, scholarships can help reduce expenses associated with tuition, learning materials, accommodation and daily educational needs. Care Wave Foundation has also called on educators, professionals, businesses, organisations, donors and volunteers to support efforts aimed at expanding educational opportunities for young Nigerians. Students interested in the programme should verify the eligibility requirements and application instructions directly through the foundation’s official application platform before submitting personal documents or making any payment.
