Meta is expanding its artificial intelligence ambitions beyond consumer-facing products with the launch of Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business-focused division designed to help companies use AI to grow, automate operations and transform how they work.Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the initiative, describing it as a new major pillar of the company’s business.The platform will bring together Meta’s AI technology and infrastructure for businesses and developers. According to Zuckerberg, the company plans to offer tools including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, alongside other technologies.Meta says the move will build on capabilities it has developed while operating platforms used by billions of people and working with hundreds of millions of businesses around the world.CJ Desai to Lead Enterprise PushTo lead the new business, Meta has appointed Chirantan “CJ” Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer.Desai will report directly to Zuckerberg. He joins Meta from MongoDB, where he served as CEO and President.Before MongoDB, Desai held senior leadership positions at Cloudflare and ServiceNow, including serving as President and COO at ServiceNow.Zuckerberg highlighted Desai’s experience across enterprise software, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, business applications and security as part of the reason for his appointment.Meta’s Next AI Battlefield the move places Meta more directly into the growing enterprise AI market, where technology companies are competing to provide businesses with AI agents, coding tools, APIs and software capable of handling increasingly complex tasks.Rather than focusing only on AI features inside consumer products, Meta is now positioning its technology as infrastructure that businesses and developers can build on.The launch also signals how the AI competition is expanding. The next stage may not simply be about which company has the most capable AI model, but which companies can turn those models into useful tools that businesses are willing to adopt at scale.For Meta, the Enterprise Platform represents a new chapter in its AI strategy one that could bring its technology directly into the everyday operations of businesses and developers.
