RCCG to Commission New Dialysis Centre at FMC Asaba

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), through its Christian Social Responsibility arm, His Love Foundation, is set to commission a new dialysis centre at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, Delta State. The facility, named the Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre, is designed to expand access to specialised kidney care and strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide dialysis treatment to patients living with kidney-related conditions. The commissioning has been scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori expected to perform the ceremony. According to reports, the new centre is equipped with modern dialysis facilities and is expected to reduce the pressure on patients who may otherwise have to travel outside the state to access specialised renal treatment. The intervention comes amid growing concerns over access to kidney care in Nigeria, where patients requiring regular dialysis often face significant financial and healthcare-access challenges. The Asaba project is also part of a wider healthcare programme by His Love Foundation. According to the foundation’s July 2026 scorecard, it has commissioned 15 dialysis centres across Nigeria, alongside five intensive care units, three ambulances, a cardiac diagnostic unit and two X-ray facilities. The foundation said its social intervention programmes extend beyond healthcare into areas including education, feeding, rehabilitation, social enterprise and other community-focused initiatives. Its interventions reportedly cover all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with projects reaching communities across more than 650 local government areas. The commissioning of the Asaba dialysis centre is expected to further improve access to critical renal services for residents of Delta State and neighbouring communities, particularly those who require repeated dialysis sessions. For patients and families dealing with kidney disease, the availability of specialised treatment closer to home could reduce the burden associated with travelling long distances for essential care. The new centre therefore represents another addition to Nigeria’s expanding network of dialysis facilities, while highlighting the role of non-governmental and faith-based organisations in supporting public healthcare infrastructure.
